Wine Down and Build Your Own Bark-cuterie Board!

Wine Down and Build Your Own Bark-cuterie Board!

What’s summertime without a picnic? Enjoy the warmer weather with your best friend by your side, with picnic ideas that are pup and dog mom approved. Everyone loves a charcuterie board, and now dogs can join in too! We created our very own bark-cuterie board so you and your dog can each have a yummy spread of treats. Remember to pack the wine too! Our Organic Oven Baked Treats are a fan favorite, and we’ve paired them with wines to help make for the happiest hour- dog mom style.

Build your own bark-cuterie board that’s dog and dog mom-friendly using a mix of treats and dog-safe human foods. Opt for fruits like apples, strawberries, blueberries, and banana for tropical flavors and to add some color, plus a boost of antioxidants. Sprinkle in some Organic Baked Oven Treats in your flavor of choice for you and your pooch but be warned- you might not want to share! Fill in the board with some Singles treats, like chicken or liver, or go with your pup’s favorite! To finish it off, add some sweet potato treats for an extra crunch and top with peanut butter, or spoon on the side to mix with bananas and treats.

Complete the perfect picnic with a glass, or two, of wine. Sorry fur-kids, wine is off limit for dogs-grownups only!  Share a bag of Organic Oven Baked Treats while you sip and snack with your pooch, and check out these pairing ideas to match your glass to the perfect cookie. We recommend pairing cranberry or pumpkin with a robust red, like a cabernet or pinot noir to bring out the rich, earthy flavors. The tartness of blueberry works well with champagne, or have a glass of Syrah with its fruit-forward, but savory flavor. Try pairing fruitier flavors like lemon honey with a crisp, white wine like a sauvignon blanc to highlight the sweeter notes of citrus and bring out the wine’s hallmark aroma. Chardonnay makes a great pair for banana and sweet potato, complementing the sweetness of the banana and letting the flavor shine through. The light, fresh flavor of apple goes well with a more neutral white wine like pinot grigio to balance the delicate flavor.
